FF118 Christmas Quilt

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  A quick card today for the Fab Friday color challenge:

I just received the Christmas Quilt set from the upcoming Holiday mini catalog, and was thinking how it wasn't just for Christmas! It has so many fun elements that can be used for all types of occasions!  Although lining up the panels of quilt are a little tricky, even with a Stamp-a-ma-jig, I think it still has lots of possibilities:

I remembered that I had some polka-dotted Melon Mambo DSP left from a couple of years ago, so it was the mat for my 4 1/4" card; I added a layer of Lemon Lime Twist that was stamped with the little blanket stitch stamp, then a scalloped layer of Melon Mambo and the quilt panel itself.  I stamped the outline of the quilt in Smoky Slate.  A little sentiment from Sprinkles of Life, embellished with two of the floral images from the set (and a candy dot!) finished it off!  It is a pretty, bright color combo, which is what we needed yesterday!

And here's another little bright spot in our rainy day yesterday!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP112 The Road Less Traveled

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  "Travel" is our theme today....and a great one it is!

No automatic alt text available.
I don't have a whole lot of "travel" stamps and what I do have, I've used a I wanted something a little different!  John has a slew of old ADC map books he got from his dad's house, so I snagged one and took out a page to create my card:

I chose a sentiment from the retired Adventure Awaits....this is such a great set, fun sentiments and big bold fonts....and stamped it in Tempting Turquoise, then again in Real Red for the center portion:

I stamped a bike image from Clearly Besotted's Good Times:

and had a cute little paper-pieced balloon from Verve coming out of its basket:

I also added a little image from Better Together that looks like a least that's what it looks like to me!!!

I think this would make a great graduation or "new job" was fun to make!  I hope you'll check out all the other samples on the SIP blog and share your travel card with us as well!

Speaking of traveling, Cassidy spent another day with her daddy as they got home late due to lots of vacation traffic!!!  Hopefully we'll get some snuggle time today!  Thanks for popping in today and be blessed!

MTS189 Three Wise Owls

Happy Monday, peeps!  I hope you had a good weekend....I know I did!  I have two stamp classes today so this will be short and sweet.....this is such a silly little card, I almost didn't post it, but I liked the Match the Sketch sketch this week (love my "threes"!!):

and I wanted to make a quick card as a sample for my class, highlighting the new Spooky Cat set which will be in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.  What a FUN set....I'll have more samples using it real soon!  So for my card today, I stamped two owls in Smoky Slate and one in Crumb Cake, then added the overlays in Soft Suede and Crushed Curry:

I added a tree limb from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets, a moon I punched from Crushed Curry cardstock and I stamped a few lines from the same set....that's what I wish I had left alone, but the Basic Gray mat looked a little plain.  Anyway, I love how the sentiment and eye rings fit right on top of the owl's body:

I mounted it on a Crushed Curry card base and stamped a simple "Trick or Treat" on the inside!  I know I'll be using this set a lot this fall!  Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for our next Stamp Ink Paper challenge too!

Paper Players 357 Bee Better Soon

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Sandy is our wonderful hostess at the Paper Players today and she has a fun, summery color palette for us:

I am always low on get-well cards, so I thought I would use these cheerful colors with a bee-themed stamp set from Darcie's Heart and Home called BEEutiful:

I used the CAS(E) This Sketch for this week as well:

I stamped my beehive in Calypso Coral on some DSP from the Petal Garden stack, then fussy-cut it out and mounted it on a white panel that had been embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder; I also stamped a little bee in Smoky Slate:

For my vertical panel, I stamped the edge of my Pear Pizzazz card with a MFT stamp called Distressed Background Blocks in Versamark, then I dabbed on some green chalk...remember those pastels that SU used to sell....yep, I still have 'em!  I love the soft effect it gives.  I also added a stitched border and some Calypso Coral baker's twine:

Finally, I stamped my sentiment on a little banner and added a wee little piece of matching washi tape from several years back!!  Still have that too!

I hope you'll pop by the Paper Players blog to see all the other designers' creations as well, or check them out here:

Cassidy will be home today, and although it has been quiet here and I've enjoyed it, I am anxious to see her!  She starts school in two weeks!!!  Here she is at Jellystone Park in Fremont, IN, relaxing with Yogi and eating her favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS300 and JAI372 Stitched Hi

Hi everyone!  Yay, it's Saturday...lazy, kickback kind of day today!  It's cloudy and dreary so I spent a little extra time in my stamp room this morning, making a card using the 300th FMS sketch and the pretty JAI colors:

Thursday night I went to a craft night at my local library....people just bring projects that they're working on, so I brought a Paper Pumpkin kit and got caught up on a few projects.  A couple of women were working on sewing projects and one of them gave all of us some sewing-themed bandaids she got at a local fabric store.  Aren't these CUTE:

Adorable!   I wanted to thank her, so I pulled out a Paper Smooches set that I just had to have and have barely inked up, called Needle Little Love, and here's what I came up with:

I did a little paper piecing with some Pool Party DSP for the sewing machine, adding a little enamel dot, along with a "stitched" sentiment and little needle:

I stamped both the Tranquil Tide and Powder Pink panels with images from the set and added a line of cross stitches along the outside edges of the thick white cardstock base, along with a little Powder Pink ribbon:

And on the inside, I combined one of the sentiments with a past Paper Pumpkin sentiment and stamped it on a Stitched Shape square and added a little Pool Party button:

Thanks for popping in today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge!

AYSI156 Poppy Sympathy

Hello everyone!  It's Friday....the end of the week, yippee!  And it's time for another As You See It challenge; this week it is a color challenge!  And it was a challenge for me!

Image may contain: text

You all know my feelings about Lemon Lime Twist (although I am getting a little more used to it), and I rarely use Elegant Eggplant.  So to match up these colors with Real Red was a real stretch for me.  Unfortunately, I needed another sympathy card, and I remembered this pretty PTI set called Botanical Silhouettes:

Because of the strong colors, I kept this card very clean and simple!  I stamped the stems along the side of the card, and since they didn't quite reach the edge, I filled them in with a Lemon Lime Twist marker.  I added the poppies in Real Red and the sentiment and border in Elegant Eggplant

I also used the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches:

The inside of the card used the dandelion image from the same set along with a diecut and sentiments from another PTI set, Inspired: Prayer.  I also stamped some speckles from Gorgeous Grunge.

It was interesting to see how the others on the DT used these colors...I hope you'll stop over to the AYSI blog, check them out, and be bold and share your creation with us too!

For Your Shower with Altenew

Happy Thursday, peeps!  My SIL wanted a bridal shower card, so I got up my courage to use my Altenew Painted Flowers stamps---for some reason, they intimidate me a little.  But I was happy with how this turned out....still experimenting with the placement, but I do like the colors!

This is a tall card, 7 x 3 1/2", so I did make a custom envelope which I forgot to photograph!  After stamping the flowers in Basic Black, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron,  I filled in the smaller blooms with a white gel pen.  I added a black stitched scallop die trim, black gingham and a piece of burlap that was cut with a large scallop die:

And finally, a little banner with a SU sentiment at the bottom:

I really like the country feel to this!

So Cassidy is having a good time camping, but apparently she has to work to earn her keep!  Her daddy sent Dana this photograph, and it took me a few minutes to realize what exactly was going on...I thought she had some fur or feathers at her feet until I got a good look at her Pop Pop's head...she is giving him a hair cut!!!  You can just see the trimmer in her hand on the side of his head! And apparently she did Daddy's before she did his.  I particularly like the funny!  And remember, she's not even seven yet.  Not many people would let their six-year-old cut their hair, LOL!

I hope this give you as much of a chuckle as it did me!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
